Part1
I was running against the wind. As it slammed against my face. Dirt would fry into my sensitive eye with contacts. I squinted the whole 4 hours of riding. I could feel my butt bone going through this leathered covered hard seat. “Damn, I can’t believe I’m doing this!!” I felt like the main actor from premium rush. Making cars brake, people scream, running red lights, finding a pathway and racing time. I felt great. The adrenaline couldn’t keep up with me.
Why, was I doing this? Being a volunteer firefighters comes with a lot of responsibilities sometimes I have more work there than in school. The consists of: cleaning, delivering, practicing, showing up when asked, buying food, and making it. This time, I was sent to deliver invitations to the 19th anniversary of my station (la 100). 25 places: restaurants, hotels, and bakery’s.. Due to my trio to huayllay I was late. Due to my age I didn’t have a car like my partners did, I had to use the bike. Which I did, personally think it’s the best way transportation especially in rush hour.
Organization was key doing this. I know a lot of Lima. I can get you anywhere you want to go if you give me a reference. If you give me small street names I wont know where to start. Instead of giving my Av, I was given small street names like Las Orquideas, Calle Dean Valdvian, Calle Jose Cossio, etc. I didn’t know where to start so I made a map on Google maps and I still couldn’t find all streets. So I said “what ever
” I’m wasting my time. Got in the elevator and went downstairs. As I looked for my bike it hit me. I left it at my grandma’s house 2 weeks ago. I look around and think. I can’t run. A run from my house to some places is 1 hour away. My only choice was my sister pink bike with a small basket in front.
