Mindset! what is it? I had a friend that talked to me about mindsets and stuff and it seemed complicated and didn't really get but before he could explain i would go to class. The Innovation Academy gave us this book to read over our vacation and after reading it i realised that i go half and half parts of me are full of growth mindsets but a lot acts like fixed mindset for example when i see someone better at me i feel attacked i feel like they are trying to take my place i feel discouraged. What i should do is admire at how they got there with effort and i should work even harder to get better because its my passion. I do already half a growth mindset at school last year i understood that everyone was smart because they studied because they worked for it and i knew i could get there too but i was lazy and unmotivated since i read this book it gave me reassurance that it was possible and on my first and second day i went with all the motivation i had.
What touched me about the book is that it shows us how the growth mindset docent necessarily mean it will take you to the top it acts as a tool to makes better not because we are only aiming for the skye but because we do it for passion and for learning.
Something else that has to been made clear to me while reading the book is that while having the growth-mindset not everything that can be changed should be changed sometimes we have imperfection that don't effect you or other that could be left as it is. The books shows an example of a cab driver that forced himself to listen to opera because she thought that smart people listened to it only. Can everyone do well? YES!! with the right mindset everyone is capable of much more. there is a story about the worst school in Los angels that had some kids with calculus score so high they got college credit thats because they and there teacher had a growth-mindset.
