We all want to be successful, but were not all willing to work for it. I for one have still not captured the idea of having to work for success until today.
Today During the Innovation Academy, two students, Sergio Piaggio, and Dimitri Paliouras left school to go pitch a product to PlazaVea and Vivanda (supermarkets here at Peru). I thought it was really cool. Although after all I herd, I thought they were just going to get shot down.
Later on in the day, they barged in smiling and said “WE DID IT’. Honestly I was shocked; I couldn’t believe they did it. I was surprised they knew that those supermarkets said no before but tried again. That’s perseverance, right there.
I started to think in my NGO project, have I gotten as far as I wanted to? I thought about it. I haven’t and I realized I’ve been wanting to have an NGO since I was a kid and now that I’m working for one. Waiting for the project to be done itself; is not the solution. I don’t leave my comfort zone. That’s the problem.
If your really want to be successful, you have to want it as much as you want to breath. Imagine yourself drowning in the ocean. What are you thinking about? The party next weekend? Food? Friends? Sleep? NO!! You only think about how you can get up so you can breath; that’s how you’re going to have to treat your work to be successful. You have to do everything that is possible to get to the top. If you don’t the more you wait the deeper you fall and the harder it is to get up.
Think about your work, do you want to reach the top as badly as you want to breath? Its all about being passionate and motivated, on what you do!
Its understandable to not be motivated everyday that why we need to find that motivation.
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing--that’s why we recommend it daily.” --Zig Ziglar
If your not motivated, you will never get to be successful. Sometimes we loose track of what we want to accomplish. That’s why my advice is to find your goal. Write it down and say it to yourself 5 times a day and say it out loud. Remember that you goal has to motivate you.
You’re not motivated? Then ask yourself why? It’s that simple. Why? For example:
My goal is to help the growth of “Luchas Nobles”.
That is not what I tell myself in the mornings though
Why?
Because everyday in Peru I see children with out parents or that need medical attention and need a lot of help. I know most of these children are likely to die. So I want to get as many donations as possible to give these children a happy life and a chance like everyone else to be successful.
When you look to be successful. Go back to being a child again and take a moment through out your work and ask yourself why? Why am I doing this? Why do I want this?
